ROLE AT THE FQM
Research Assistant
Michelle Liu's research focuses on Chinese painting and visual culture of the Song and Yuan periods, with particular interests in literati painting, gender, and history of Chinese painting exhibitions. She has presented and written on subjects ranging from memory and place in late Yuan painting to Southern Song female figure painting and Ming-dynasty women's culture. Alongside her scholarly work, she has experience in public programming and arts education, having developed workshops and educational materials for diverse museum audiences.
