In my mind it is a big flower, all lines extending into the boundless space beyond. Last spring I saw it for the first time, and this fall I began to paint it. In my view it is not just a flower, but a pair of large, half-opened eyes, a broad chest, destined to bloom—wilting and budding are but a solemn ritual on the journey.
玉兰
它在我心中是一颗巨大的花朵 ，所有线条的延展都可以陷入无边无际的空间里。去年的春天我见到它 ，今年的秋天开始描绘它 。在我看来它并非只是花朵 ，它如巨大而微睁的双眼 、宽阔的胸膛 、绽放是它的本意 。凋零与待放只是旅途中一种庄严的仪轨。
