纽约学者杨凯琳女士与20世纪国外最重要的中国古画收藏和鉴赏家王季迁共有四十年的友谊交往。晚年王季迁还曾委托杨凯琳整理、翻译、出版他的笔记。历十一年光阴，杨凯琳写成了《王季迁读画笔记》，被誉为“以原始真实的记录，完整保存了王氏对这些名作的品鉴感想和研究心得。”
