The FQM will host a book launch on Sunday, March 22nd, 2026, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. During the event, writer, independent scholar, and collector Kathleen Yang is going to launch her newest book My Encounter with Qian Xuan’s Paintings. The book presents Yang’s study of the Chinese Yuan Dynasty painter Qian Xuan (钱选, 1235-1305) favored by multiple innovative methods of connoisseurship that are made possible by recent technological developments. Yang will also give a presentation that introduces her process of research and writing. This event is open to the public, but RSVP is encouraged for attending.

Kathleen Yang is an independent scholar, contributing author, and prominent collector in Chinese art for many decades. A student of C. C. Wang, she is also the author of Through A Chinese Connoisseur’s Eye: Private Notes of C. C. Wang.
